Entertainment
If you are big on entertainment, how about putting a TV
in the kitchen and a comfy sofa so the whole family can come in and spend time
together, it will let parents monitor what their children are watching and you
could watch a movie together. If you are a family of book worms, you could have
an end cabinet or the end of a kitchen island made into a bookshelf so the
family can relax with a good book whilst cooking. It provides a useful place to
keep all of those cookery books too.
Islands
An island is the perfect addition to a good-sized kitchen
as it allows the family to sit together if you add some bar stools and they can
all chip into the cooking. They can be square, rectangular or a circle shape,
whatever suits the space and the style of your kitchen. Islands also provide
extra worktop space which is convenient if you are making a large meal. If you
need more oven space, a built in oven is a great addition and allows you to
cook more at once.
The Design
Do not fret if you are not feeling creative when it comes
to designing your dream bespoke kitchen as there are plenty of companies that
will help you out from the design stage right through to installation. In my
family home, we used Kitchens by Mike Taylor to help us. They incorporated their ideas with ours and now
we have a kitchen that we love spending time in.
Gadgets
We have also invested in some gadgets such an electronic
knife sharpener and electronic tin opener that just make life easier. As does having
a floor cleaner that cleans the kitchen floor for us. You can also get a
microwave with a pizza draw which speeds up the cooking time of a pizza,
perfect for a quick dinner after a long day.
Another useful gadget is a 3-in-1 breakfast station. This
is really useful in the morning if you are in a hurry as you can do three
things at once; fry an egg, make toast and a cup of coffee.
Other cool gadgets include a fizzy drinks maker and ice
lolly makers which are a cheaper and healthier way to make treats as you can
use fruit in the ice lollies.
The final gadget that I will leave you with is this; a
cereal bowl that had two sections, one for milk and one for cereal. If like me
you love cereal but hate when it gets soggy, or just as you go to eat it, the
phone rings or someone comes to the door and when you get back to your
breakfast, it’s ruined, then this is for you. It will save you from this ever
happening again!
